Bike from your condo to town & beyond!

We have complimentary beach cruisers at Sunset Beach Resort for our guests —  why not cruise the beach one of the bikes? Ask the staff for a bike & lock (day use only), sign the waiver , and go…(don’t forget to bring water & some money)! It’s easy to follow the road to town—it wiggles a bit, but you can’t go wrong keeping the sea to your right!

For any mechanical issues while riding, there are several bike shops in town.  Should you run over glass or anything & get a flat, it’s ~BZ$10 or so to get your tube patched.

In many places it’s popular to bike along the beach, just always be on the lookout for driftwood, buried rocks, etc, not to mention kids & dogs! Beach sections by resorts or homes are normally well maintained; those sections that are not by developed lots are not so well maintained.

For serious bikers, you may even want to go through town & then over the bridge. Keep in mind, however, that it is HOT, so pace yourself! If you do go north, the road is pretty good for several miles north (6+), although it is not very scenic. For a prettier although definitely more challenging ride, you could bike along the beach by the sea. Be prepared as there will be several parts where you will need to walk your bike or perhaps lift it over a small wall or log. As you bike, you’ll pass several bars, restaurants & resorts along the way, although the farther north you go, the fewer & farther between they will be (& in general, the more expensive the drinks & food become! 🙂 ). Especially after about mile 6.5 north of the bridge (where X’Tan Ha Resort is—you’ll note the colorful roofs as you bike along the beach), the resorts are separated by quite a bit of space.

Make sure of course you plan for enough time (& energy) to get back home well before dark!

Here we are on the way back down the beach path. It was a great ride!
